GYK-92 SY is the 380 V control unit of the r-tec industrial portfolio, supplied as a package with the GYM100S-2 gearmotor. What sets the unit apart is that the entire control surface lives on the enclosure: a digital display, the LEARN / ENTER / FWD / REV keypad, direction and STOP membrane buttons and a mushroom-type emergency stop are combined on a single panel — no separate hand terminal is needed for commissioning or limit setting.
Control surface
- Digital display — shows parameters and status directly; limits are taught from the screen with the LEARN key.
- FWD / REV keys — jog the door in a controlled way during commissioning; ENTER confirms parameters.
- On-body direction and STOP buttons — no external push-button station is required for daily use; a wired button input can still be connected if preferred.
- Emergency stop (mushroom button) — cuts the circuit instantly; the on-unit link of the mandatory industrial safety chain.
Motor package: GYM100S-2
The packaged GYM100S-2 motor delivers 450 W of power and 100 N.m of torque; output speed is 24 rpm and the shaft bore is 25.4 mm. The encoder tracks door position turn by turn and supports a limit range of up to 20 turns (shaft output). Thermal protection engages at 120 °C.
The duty cycle is S2 20% (at 10 min continuous operation). For high-cycle projects — logistics dock doors that open very frequently through the day — we recommend confirming the cycle requirement together with your dealer.
Installation notes
- Motor and encoder cables run separately; the wire colour scheme (U/V/W/PE and GND/B/A/VCC/COM/OH) is tabulated in the technical document.
- Waterproof terminals are standard at the cable entries; together with the IP 54 enclosure the unit suits dusty and humid sites.
- Chain-operated manual override — moves the door via the chain mechanism on the motor during a power cut.

Model notes
GYK-92 SY is recommended by our dealers once the site dimensions have been provided. For standard industrial sectional door control, other units in the portfolio such as the 220-K or I-380 can also be considered; the right match depends on door size and usage frequency.

The duty cycle is given as S2 20 percent, so what does that mean in practice?
S2 20 percent says the motor can run under load for at most 20 percent of a 10 minute window and needs the rest of that time to cool. That leaves roughly 2 minutes of travel in every 10. If one cycle takes 30 seconds for opening and closing together, that comes to four cycles per 10 minutes. On doors running back to back at shift changeover this limit fills quickly and the 120 °C thermal protection trips and stops the door. Count the cycles at the busiest hour of the entrance rather than deciding on a daily average.

What does the encoder counting at most 20 turns mean?
Position is tracked by an encoder on the shaft output, and the unit can count at most 20 turns. The number of turns between the open and closed positions follows from the door height and the drum diameter; where that exceeds 20 turns, the unit cannot learn the position fully. On tall doors, the drum group and motor pairing is therefore verified together. Setting is done through the digital display and the LEARN, ENTER, FWD and REV keys; the door should not be put into normal service before limit learning is complete. With a 25.4 mm shaft bore, the shaft diameter must suit that figure too.
