For medium-to-large industrial sectional doors and Full Vision showroom doors, the r-tec SIRIUS 10024 TCE is the standard answer in its segment: a 100 Nm torque class, 380 V three-phase supply, 0.37 kW motor power and 24 cm/sec movement speed. Open and close limit positions are set in software through the electronic limit switch, while the shaft-driven construction couples the motor directly to the door. Should the power fail, the chain mechanism lets the door be operated by hand.

Manual operation — chain mechanism
In case of a power outage or service requirement, manual operation via chain is a standard feature:
- Pull the chain hanging from the chain mechanism on the motor
- The motor switches to manual mode (automatic mode disengages)
- The door is opened/closed by hand
- When power returns, release the chain mechanism → returns to automatic mode

How does an electronic limit switch differ from a mechanical one?
A mechanical limit switch breaks the circuit when the door physically contacts a trip lever; it is set by sliding that lever by hand and can drift over time with vibration. An electronic limit switch counts position from the drive shaft, is taught through the board, and needs no mechanical contact, so drift is eliminated. Settings such as an intermediate position or partial opening also become possible this way. In return, the learning procedure must be completed correctly during commissioning; with learning left half done, the door does not recognise its limits.

How is the door opened during a power cut?
The motor has a chain mechanism, and during an outage the door is moved by hand with it. This matters on an industrial sectional door for evacuation and emergency egress, because on a shaft-driven arrangement the leaf cannot be pushed by hand. The chain's drop length and accessibility should be planned during installation: a chain that ends up behind racking, pallets or machinery is of no use in an outage. Before switching to manual, confirm the supply really is off, and do not touch the chain while the door is moving.
