r-tec Electromechanical Lock

Overview

r-tec Electromechanical Lock is an electromechanical accessory that provides automatic locking at the end of closing for automatic door, garden swing door and barrier leaf. Although standard motor braking stops the door, without mechanical locking the door can be opened by wind, vibration or light pushing; the electromechanical lock prevents this. It works together with the lock terminals of R2 (automatic door), G24 (garden motors) and GIGA Sedo (industrial) control boards.

How does it work?

1. Motor completes door closing → control board sends 12/24 V to lock terminal
2. Lock magnet/solenoid activates → locks leaf to frame metal
3. Locked state LED red (status verification)
4. Open command → control board cuts lock terminal → lock releases
5. Motor opens door
6. In emergency key manual opening — door opens from outside during power outage

→ External garden swing door = lock mandatory; in windy areas, door can open in 3-4 seconds.

Mechanical manual opening

In emergency (power outage + door locked, opening from outside required):

1. Original key is inserted into the key hole on lock body
2. Quarter turn rotation → mechanical latch releases
3. Door can be manually opened → motor in free-movement mode (motor auto-release)
4. When emergency passes key is turned back → lock returns to automatic mode

Anti-vibration mechanism

Traditional electromagnetic locks make a “clack” sound at the moment of locking — annoying in night/silent environments. The r-tec electromechanical lock locks silently with a spring soft-close mechanism:

• Classic electromagnetic: ~60-70 dB clack sound
• r-tec electromechanical: ~40-45 dB soft click

Silence is critical in hospital, hotel, premium residence applications.

Field discipline

• Position precision — 2-3 mm clearance between lock body and metal plate on leaf; more clearance reduces lock force
• Lock terminal voltage — Lock output 12 V or 24 V on control board; must match lock voltage
• Rain tightness — Lock body protected from rain in outdoor installation (top cover or overhang)
• Key maintenance — Lubricate emergency open key every 6 months; rust makes opening difficult
• Periodic test — Monthly lock + open test cycle performed
