The card reader is a standard control element in automatic doors, barriers and pedestrian accesses requiring authorised access. It operates with the card reader input of r-tec control boards; each transit operation can be recorded by card number. Thanks to LED and buzzer feedback, the user immediately sees whether the card has been read and whether transit permission has been granted.

What frequencies does the card reader work on and how many cards can be enrolled?
The reader supports 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz RFID frequencies; the first is used on conventional proximity cards, the second on newer types that allow encryption. Memory holds up to 1000 records, which covers staff and vehicle access at a medium-sized facility. With an IP65 rating it can be used outdoors, on barriers and vehicle entrances. When a card is lost, its record must be deleted from memory; a card left enrolled stays authorised and the access control loses its meaning.
