r-tec External Antenna
In garden and garage automation systems, an external antenna is preferred for remote-controlled operation. The factory antenna on the board limits the range inside the metal control box; the external antenna is taken out from the control board with a 50 ohm coaxial cable and carried onto the wall or pole. This moves the remote signal outside the metal enclosure and lets a vehicle or pedestrian approaching the transit point trigger the gate from a greater distance.
Technical specifications
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Frequency model | 433 MHz or 868 MHz |
| Cable connection | 50 ohm coaxial |
| Jack type | r-tec board series standard RG58 |
| Mounting | External wall / panel |
| Range (open area) | Performance up to 100 m |
Frequency selection
- 433 MHz: For r-tec standard remote models
- 868 MHz: Preference of European continent based dealers (CE band)
Typical application
The external antenna is used in installations where the remote range is insufficient on swing-leaf garden gates, sliding garden automation and garage door motors. At residential entrances with large gardens, or in projects where the control enclosure is positioned far from the gate line, it connects directly to the r-tec control board over the RG58 jack and provides a stable signal reception. The frequency model is selected to match the same band as the r-tec remote used in the system.
