KING 4000 sits at the ceiling of the range — the highest-capacity member of the r-tec sliding motor portfolio. At a 4,000 kg class door weight it brings direct-drive 380 V three-phase power to factory supply gates, port terminals, OSB heavy industry facilities and free trade zone warehouse complexes. It shares the same control unit (I-380) as KING 2500, and its motor winding capacity produces the moment needed to move the 4,000 kg door from a standstill.
KING 4000 vs KING 2500
| KING 2500 | KING 4000 | |
|---|---|---|
| Max. door weight | 2,500 kg | 4,000 kg |
| Mains | 380 V three-phase | 380 V three-phase |
| Drive type | Direct-drive | Direct-drive |
| Control board | I-380 | I-380 |
| Market segment | Factory medium facility | Heavy industry / port |
→ For doors between 2,500 – 4,000 kg, KING 4000 offers a long-life margin; at the 2,000-2,500 kg limit, KING 2500 is straightforward.
Target projects
- Port terminal container area entry-exit gates
- Automotive factory main supply gate (truck traffic)
- Steel production facility heavy vehicle entrance
- Free trade zone warehouse complex main entrance
- Mining / construction site entry control points
Together with the I-380 control unit
The I-380 three-phase control board is mandatory for KING 4000. In 380 V three-phase direct-drive driving:
- If the phase sequence is wrong, the motor reverses — I-380 automatically stops.
- The board shuts down in low-voltage (< 310 V) conditions.
- Overcurrent protection is calibrated to the site via trimpot.
- Programmable operating time (2.5 – 90 s) — used on motors with their own limit switch.
KING 4000; because it is a heavy motor, an external limit switch is mandatory — programmable mode is generally not used.
Field discipline
- Three-phase mains capacity — KING 4000 has a large draw current; there must be at least a 32 A three-phase output in the facility’s fuse panel.
- Current protection calibration — The I-380 trimpot is adjusted with the site trial under load; reduced until the motor stops, then slightly increased.
- Rail + ground quality — A 4,000 kg door creates a large load at the site connection; concrete ground + anchor thickness and solidity must be checked. On thin/weak ground the wheel leaves traces, the rail deforms.
- Limit switch buffer — 20-25 cm is recommended (the softening distance is large on a 4,000 kg door).
- Periodic maintenance — Every 6 months 1 rail + wheel + reducer + earthing test (heavy industry standard).
- Check for mechanical jamming before high clutch adjustment.
Model notes
Check for mechanical jamming before high clutch adjustment. KING 4000 is offered from our dealers at the quotation stage once the site dimensions have been provided; mechanical engineering support is mandatory in heavy industrial door projects (motor + door + rail + control combination is optimised according to the site).

Frequently Asked Questions
Below we've compiled the most common questions and answers regarding this product.
-
What electrical infrastructure is needed on site for a 4 000 kg class gate?
The motor is fed at 380 V three phase, draws 1 500 W and has a rated current of 6 A, with the inrush on starting going above that. A separate fuse group for the motor and cable of adequate cross-section must be provided in the panel, and the earthing must have been measured. On the control side the I-380 board is recommended, as it monitors phase sequence and phase loss. With a 25 kg motor body, the base anchoring is calculated accordingly. Bringing the supply close to the mounting point reduces both voltage drop and cabling cost.
-
What does a speed of 21 cm/s mean at this weight?
The speed is deliberately kept measured for a leaf in the 4 000 kg class: full travel on an 8 m opening takes about 38 seconds. At this weight, raising the speed increases the effect of mass under acceleration and braking, and the load on the track and roller group climbs quickly. Where passage time needs shortening, the answer is not to force speed but a partial-open setting: the leaf stops at the width the vehicle needs and travels fully only when required. That setting is made on the control board and fixed during commissioning.
