Overview
SL 500 is the compact-body entry point of the r-tec sliding motor portfolio. At a 500 kg class maximum door weight, it is aimed at residential garden gates, villa entrance gates and small office/workshop entrances. Because it fits into narrow installation areas — unlike the wider body of the KING series — it becomes the natural alternative at sites with no room left beside the door body.

When SL 500, when KING 1000?
| Feature | SL 500 | KING 1000 |
|---|---|---|
| Max. door weight | 500 kg | 1,000 kg |
| Body size | Compact | Standard |
| Market segment | Residential / villa entrance | Estate / plaza |
| Body | Compact | Standard |
| Site flexibility | Fits narrow space | Wider connection area |
→ SL 500 compact placement in doors below 500 kg; KING 1000 long-life margin in doors between 500-1,000 kg.
24 V alternative
In residential scenarios requiring battery operation, KING 524F (24 V DC, 500 kg class) can be preferred instead of SL 500. KING 524F operates during power outages with the G24 control board + battery charger board combination.
Target projects
- Residential garden gate (single family or small estate)
- Villa main entrance gate (single vehicle lane)
- Small workshop / office entrance gate
- Side/backup vehicle entrance gates (main entrance with a larger motor)
Field discipline
- The trimpot and limit sequence must be applied according to the schematic in the technical document.
- Because of the compact body, the correct seating of the gear cover is critical — if there is a gap, dust/moisture reaches the gear and the reducer life shortens.
- On single-phase mains the earthing must be tightly checked (although IP44 protection is competent, loose earthing causes an error message).
- Light door + strong motor may be incompatible — the T1 motor power trimpot must be calibrated according to the door weight.
Model notes
The trimpot and limit sequence must be applied according to the schematic in the technical document. For heavier doors (500 kg+), it is recommended to move to SL 1000 or KING 1000; borderline use causes early thermal protection trips.
