NORMPANEL — The Panel and Accessory Range at the Core of the Sectional Door

Assessing a NORMPANEL panel requires looking at its construction, dimensions and finish alongside the other parts of the door. The technical specification in the NORMPANEL brochure describes these panel and door characteristics. A listed dimension or door performance class does not establish that every finish is available in every size, or that every installed door will achieve the same result.

Panel construction and dimensions

The technical specification describes a polyurethane core between galvanised steel sheets. It gives a core density of 40 kg/m³, a steel sheet thickness of 0.40 mm and a panel thickness of 40 mm. The listed panel heights are 460 mm, 500 mm, 560 mm and 610 mm. The required height, finish and door dimensions should be checked together for each project; these figures do not establish a SKU count or current stock list.

Surface and colour

The specification describes the inner and outer sheet texture as orange-peel and mentions curved, flat and striped panel models. RAL 9002 is the standard colour. Another RAL colour may be requested; the finish, colour and order conditions should be confirmed when quoting. The document does not establish a seven-colour standard stock palette or identical colour availability for every panel code.

Door components and application

A panel is only one part of a sectional door. The specification discusses wind resistance, water penetration and air permeability at door level, and refers to EPDM seals for sealing. Where a door exceeds 5100 mm in width, it specifies reinforcement profiles at panel joints, support sheets, double side hinges and long-shaft rollers. These are conditions tied to door dimensions, rather than a fixed component list for every installation.

The specification gives no panel service-life figure, torsion-spring cycle rating, annual statutory inspection interval or long-term spare-parts guarantee. For a particular door and hardware configuration, the applicable current technical documents, maintenance plan and warranty terms should be checked separately.
