Overview

Sectional door hardware includes various equipment families used for the installation, operation and safety of the door system. The NORMPANEL accessory portfolio covers 14 main groups including hinges, locks, rail systems, drums, springs, steel cables and safety elements. All accessories are produced to be fully compatible with the NORMTOR + NORMPANEL series — quality materials + durability for heavy use are guaranteed.

NORMPANEL sectional door system — panel and track detail

14 main accessory groups

Profiles (2 groups)

  • Steel profiles — Hot-dip galvanised steel. The basic skeleton for side rail + top rail + connection elements.
  • Aluminium profiles — Extruded aluminium main profile. Post + edging + bottom skirt on the door surface.

Mechanical components (5 groups)

  • Shafts — The shaft on which the spring system sits. Steel, precision-machined.
  • Drums — The drum on which the steel cable winds. Door size × spring system × drum diameter are calculated together.
  • Springs — Torsion springs. The main element that balances the panel weight.
  • Spring heads — Spring end connection parts (right + left-threaded variants).
  • Sprung stopper / buffer — End-of-travel softening + safety stop.

Connection elements (4 groups)

  • Bearing plates — The plate to which the shaft bearings are fixed to the wall/column.
  • Wheel assembly — Wheels for the panels to move on the side rail (double-bearing, stainless preferred).
  • Handle and lock — Manual opening + security locking.
  • Screws and bolts — Standard + custom sizes for all connection points.

Sealing + cable (2 groups)

  • Seals — EPDM seals for side rail + top rail + bottom threshold. Air + sound + light sealing.
  • Cable group — Steel cables + cable joints + connection parts. Transmits the door’s carrying load to the drum.

Safety (1 group — critical)

  • Safety equipment — Cable break sensor (prevents panel drop), anti-drop device (mechanical lock), photocell sensor group (trap protection). Meets occupational safety requirements.

Typical use

In industrial and garage-type sectional door installations, using an original and mutually compatible accessory set is critical for service life, safety and warranty conditions. Spare-parts stock — especially the spring + drum + cable + safety group — are items recommended at our dealers during the periodic maintenance process.

Field discipline

  • Accessory selection is made according to the panel size, door weight and open-close frequency. A mis-calibrated spring system strains the motor + can cause cable breakage.
  • Spring cycle life — Standard spring 15,000 – 25,000 cycles; for heavy use, a 100,000-cycle high-durability spring is optional.
  • Cable replacement frequency — Once every 5-7 years (once every 3 years in heavy use); cable wear is inspected visually + during periodic maintenance.
  • Safety equipment test — Cable break sensor + anti-drop device must be tested annually (occupational safety standard).
  • Mixed-brand accessory prohibited — Combining NORMPANEL hardware with another brand’s panel is out of warranty.

Advantages

  • Comprehensive catalogue — 14 main groups, 3-10 different size/model options in each group.
  • Compatibility guarantee — Fully compatible with the NORMTOR and NORMPANEL series; original spare-parts access guaranteed for years.
  • Detailed technical files — Separate PDF for each group with technical drawing and usage instructions.
  • Heavy-use durability — At the standard of hot-dip galvanised + stainless steel for industrial applications.
  • Spare-parts continuity — Spare-parts supply guaranteed even for legacy NORMTOR sites (15+ years of model continuity).

Frequently Asked Questions

Below we've compiled the most common questions and answers regarding this product.

  • Which door series are these accessories compatible with?

All NORMPANEL accessories are produced as original spare parts fully compatible with the NORMTOR and NORMPANEL series. Combining NORMPANEL hardware with another brand's panel is outside warranty coverage; for service life and safety we recommend using an original and mutually compatible accessory set.

  • How is the spring system selected and how long does it last?

Spring selection is made according to panel size, door weight and open-close frequency; a mis-calibrated spring strains the motor and can cause cable breakage. Standard torsion springs offer 15,000 – 25,000 cycles of life, while a 100,000-cycle high-durability spring is optional for heavy use. Share your door size and daily usage profile and we will recommend the correct spring system.

  • What material options are available for profiles and mechanical components?

Two profile options are available: hot-dip galvanised steel sheet for the side and top rail skeleton, and extruded aluminium for the door-surface post and edging. Mechanical components cover the shaft, drum, spring, spring head and sprung stopper groups; the wheel assembly is offered with a stainless steel preference for heavy use.

  • What safety equipment is included and how often is it tested?

The safety group includes a cable break sensor (prevents panel drop), an anti-drop device (mechanical lock) and a photocell sensor group (trap protection). Per occupational safety standards, the cable break sensor and anti-drop device must be tested annually.

  • Are spare parts available for legacy NORMTOR doors?

Yes. Spare-parts supply is guaranteed even for legacy NORMTOR sites, with model continuity of 15 years and over. The spring, drum, cable and safety groups in particular are recommended items during periodic maintenance, and a separate technical PDF document is provided for each group.
