r-tec G24: One Board, Several Application Classes

The most valuable thing in a field technician’s bag is not a tool; it is simplicity. Carrying a separate board, a separate parameter set and separate spare stock for every motor family crowds both the dealer’s shelf and the technician’s mind. The G24 universal control board was developed against that crowd.
One board, many scenarios
The G24 universal control board manual describes application classes for suitable 24 V DC motors: sliding gates, swing gates, barriers and sectional doors. Pages 4–5 describe motor-type selection with BT2, LED indication, DIP switches and trimpots; page 5 mentions a fast KING-series mode. They do not provide a complete KING, Couper and Prince model-compatibility list. The exact motor, board revision and modules must be checked before commissioning; an application class is not a universal compatibility promise.
Buttons and LEDs: reading the selected configuration
The manual describes BT1/BT2 buttons, motor-type indication, DIP switches and trimpots. Settings are checked against those controls and the wiring diagram for the board revision. RF433 receiver options are described separately; the document does not establish LCD programming or a Bluetooth option. A familiar interface is useful only when the installed hardware and the applicable instructions match.
Protection: The board’s silent duty
Protection functions need the same discipline. Pages 2–3 describe obstacle sensitivity and photocell behaviour, while the troubleshooting tables discuss motor power and processor self-protection. These passages do not establish temperature or phase-protection functions, certified current thresholds or a recorded factory protection test. Any additional protection claim must be supported by documentation for the exact board revision; it cannot be inferred from another controller’s features.
Simplicity on the dealer’s shelf
A documented common architecture can simplify the spare-parts shelf where the motor, board revision and modules have been verified together. It does not mean one spare board can replace every 24 VDC controller or that every accessory is compatible. The replacement decision must account for the motor, limits, safety inputs and approved configuration.
The best advertisement for a control board is never hearing its name: the scenario loads, the gate runs, nobody thinks about the board. The technical document is ready on the product page; we can talk through the configuration for your motor range together.
