Overview
r-tec garage door motors are built with residential and apartment shared garage doors in mind. Their most visible difference from industrial motors is the shaft-type (ceiling-mounted) layout: the motor hangs from the ceiling and a chain or belt running along the rails pulls the door upward. The door they target is the spring-balanced sectional or tilting type — the torsion spring carries most of the panel weight, leaving the motor to supply only the additional movement.

Garage motor standard package
- Shaft motor unit — 230 V AC input, integrated control board + receiver.
- Drive chain or belt — 2.5-3.5 m standard according to door height, longer optional.
- Integrated LED torch — Stays on for ~3 minutes when the door is opened (entry lighting for the driver).
- Emergency release cord — Suspended from the ceiling, pulled during power outage, the motor goes into manual mode.
- 433 MHz rolling-code remote — Standard 2 buttons; spare hand-held or in-vehicle.
Single model — Pull1000
There is a single model in the r-tec garage portfolio: PULL1000. It is sufficient as the pulling capacity for a residential/apartment garage door. For industrial-size garage sectional doors, an industrial motor + I-380 control combination is recommended (see Industrial Door Motors).
Spring balance — critical condition
The garage door motor requires the door to be balanced by its own torsion spring system. If the spring balance is impaired:
- The motor strains — Thermal protection trips when an overload is drawn.
- The chain/belt wears — High tension at the drive ends.
- The door may fall to the threshold — If the spring breaks, the motor cannot hold the door alone (safety risk).
Before motor installation, the spring balance must be checked by an authorised technician.

Field discipline
- In garage door motors, the shaft unit, rail and spring balance must be adjusted according to the manufacturer’s instructions. This is the most important rule — wrong balance quickly wears out the motor and panel system.
- Ceiling height — The standard shaft motor protrudes 30-35 cm below the ceiling; if the ceiling height is insufficient, a “compact” variant should be sought.
- Drive length — Door height + 30 cm safety buffer.
- Emergency release cord access — Must be located reachable from inside the vehicle; getting the vehicle out during power outage may be critical.
- Periodic maintenance — Every 12 months 1 chain tension + rail lubrication + spring balance check.

The r-tec garage door motor (PULL series) runs noisily or with a rattling chain
The most common cause is a slack drive chain. First step: adjust the chain tension nut on the rail (the M8 nut on PULL 1000) per the manufacturer's instructions, so the chain is lightly tensioned without being over-tightened. Noise can also come from loosened mechanical fixing screws; check the rail and bracket fixing points. After adjustment, fully open and close the door a few times to confirm the noise is gone.
On the r-tec garage door the wall button works but the remote control does not
If the button works but the remote does not, the problem is on the remote side, not the motor or board. Two likely causes: the door may be in lock/block mode (turn off lock mode); or the remote is not paired to the unit or its battery is flat (re-pair the remote following the steps in the model guide, and replace the battery if needed). A shortened remote range also points first to the battery. After pairing, confirm the remote works within range.
