Overview

PULL 1200 is the reinforced variant in the same family, designed for sites where the standard PULL 1000 runs out of headroom: it lifts the pulling force class from 1 000 N to 1 200 N. It finds its place on applications that push the PULL 1000 too hard — large sectional garage doors up to 2.5 m in height, apartment shared garages or small-facility garage doors.

→ PULL 1000 for standard-height small garage; PULL 1200 for up to 2.5 m or heavy spring-balanced door; PULL 1200L for sites requiring high ceiling + long rail up to 3.1 m.

Garage motor standard package (PULL 1200)

  • Overhead motor unit — 230 V AC input, built-in control board + receiver
  • Drive chain (console mechanism) — 2.5-3.5 m standard based on door height
  • LCD display — Parameter setting via menu (limit, speed, obstacle sensitivity)
  • Integrated LED torch — Stays on for ~3 minutes when door opens
  • Emergency release cord — Hangs from ceiling, pulled during power outage for manual mode
  • 2-button 433 MHz rolling code remote — Spare handheld or in-vehicle
  • 2 photocell channels — Opening + closing safety direction

Spring balance — critical condition

The garage door motor requires the door to be balanced by its own torsion spring system. PULL 1200’s high pulling force may temporarily operate a door with disturbed spring balance, however:

  • Motor strains continuously → thermal protection trips frequently
  • Drive chain has high tension at drive ends → rapid wear
  • If the spring breaks, the motor alone cannot hold the 60-80 kg panel → safety risk

Authorised technician check is mandatory — motor is not installed without correcting the spring balance.

Target projects

  • Apartment shared garage entrance (up to 2.5 m height)
  • Large villa garage sectional door
  • Small facility or workshop garage
  • Spring-balanced industrial mini-sectional
  • Renovation — sites where PULL 1000 falls short

Field discipline

  • Overhead unit + rail + spring balance are adjusted according to manufacturer instructions
  • Ceiling height — Standard overhead motor protrudes 30-35 cm below the ceiling; if ceiling is insufficient, switch to PULL 1200L long-rail variant
  • Drive length — Door height + 30 cm safety buffer
  • Emergency release cord accessibility — In a position reachable from inside the vehicle
  • Periodic maintenance — Once every 12 months chain tension + rail lubrication + spring balance check
  • Obstacle sensitivity setting — Calibration via LCD menu for child + pet safety

Frequently Asked Questions

Below we've compiled the most common questions and answers regarding this product.

  • What doors is 1 200 N of pulling force enough for?

PULL 1200 is rated for spring-balanced sectional and up-and-over garage doors, with houses, apartment blocks and small facility garages the typical application. The critical point here is spring balance: a rail-mounted motor does not lift the full weight of the leaf, it moves an already balanced one. A door with correctly set springs stays where it is left at any position when lifted by hand. If the door is hard to lift by hand, the problem is spring balance rather than motor class, and fitting a bigger motor will not fix it but will strain the motor and the track. Spring adjustment is work for a trained team.

  • How is the garage door opened during a power cut?

The motor has a manual release on a cord: pulling it disengages the carriage from the drive chain and the door can be moved by hand. In houses where the garage is the only way out during an outage, that release must be reachable, and the cord should be positioned so it does not end up above a vehicle or behind racking. If the door has lost its spring balance, the leaf can move uncontrolled during manual operation, so the door should be known to be balanced before the cord is used. The integrated LED torch on the unit makes the job easier during an outage.
