Overview
PULL 1200L is the long-rail variant that takes the PULL 1200 motor into taller garages: it keeps the same 1 200 N output while extending the console (rail) size from a standard 3.1 m to 3.7 m, raising the maximum door height from 2.5 m to 3.1 m. That reach makes it suitable for high-ceiling garages, double-vehicle wide sectional doors and large-height commercial garage applications.

→ PULL 1200 is sufficient for standard residential garage; PULL 1200L is mandatory for high ceiling or sectional doors above 2.5 m.
Long rail — installation difference
The standard overhead motor + rail usually comes in 2 pieces. The long variant is 3 pieces, with rail ends joined during installation:
- First piece — From motor unit towards door upper frame, first metre
- Middle piece — Main drive area (1-1.5 m)
- Last piece — Up to door upper limit switch
Parallelism is critical at joints — curved or crooked joints squeeze the drive chain/belt, causing rapid wear.
High ceiling requirement
PULL 1200L overhead motor + 3.7 m console requires min 3.7 m ceiling height:
- 3.1 m door height
- Rail tip + motor body (console size 3.7 m)
- Safety buffer (driver head-bumping risk)
If ceiling is insufficient, alternative solution: side-mounted motor (tube motor) — outside the PULL series, switch to NORMTOR industrial sectional + I-380 control combination.

What is the difference between PULL 1200 and PULL 1200L?
The motor and pulling force are the same: 1 200 N class on a 230 V supply. The difference is the rail; the L variant comes with a 3.7 m boom and covers door heights up to 3.1 m. The standard variant does not reach that height. So the choice follows door height rather than weight. Garages with high ceilings and commercial units need the L variant. As the rail gets longer so does the carriage travel, so there must be sound structure under the ceiling to hang the rail from, and the hanging brackets are planned accordingly during installation.

What is the difference between chain and belt drive?
The L variant is offered with chain or belt drive. A chain carries higher pulling loads with a long service life, but produces an audible rattle in operation and wants periodic lubrication. Belt drive runs noticeably quieter and needs no lubrication; in houses with a bedroom above the garage that difference is felt. In return, a belt is more sensitive than a chain under excessive load and high temperature. Where the leaf is heavy and use is frequent, choose the chain; where quietness is the priority, the belt. The pulling force class is 1 200 N either way.
