NORMPANEL — The Panel and Accessory Range at the Core of the Sectional Door

The first things noticed on a sectional door are the motor, the track and the remote control; yet the door’s service life, insulation and safety are largely hidden in its panel. NORMPANEL is the Alkur Kapı Sistemleri A.Ş. brand that carries this core competence: steel + polyurethane sandwich panels and the 14-group accessory ecosystem that completes them are produced in the same facility as NORMTOR sectional doors.
What is a sandwich panel?
A sandwich panel is a composite building element with an insulation core applied between two steel skins. In NORMPANEL panels this structure is built as follows:
- Double-skinned galvanised steel outer surface — a combination of hot-dip galvanising + polyester paint
- Polyurethane foam core at 40 kg/m³ density — the main source of heat and sound insulation
- 25 μm polyester inner coating — easy to clean, stainless
- Tongue-and-groove edge profile — the panels sit tightly together, establishing air sealing and thermal continuity
The standard panel thickness is 40 mm; a 60 mm version can be ordered for projects requiring higher insulation.
Surface and colour options — 2 families, 7 surfaces, 16 SKUs
The panel range is divided into two main families:
- Industrial family (3 surfaces): Ribbed, Stucco, Smooth — functional geometry for production facilities, warehouses and logistics terminals.
- Finger-Safe / Fingersafe family (4 surfaces): Ribbed, Microribbed, Center Groove, Woodgrain — with an edge geometry that prevents finger trapping while closing, for high pedestrian-traffic areas such as residential buildings, shopping centres and public buildings.
Each panel code is produced in two standard heights, 500 mm and 610 mm; 8 panel codes × 2 heights make 16 SKUs in total. 7 standard RAL colours (9001, 9002, 9006, 7016, 5010, 2004, 3000) are offered for the outer surface; the inner surface is RAL 9002 or RAL 9010 as standard. Custom colours outside the standard range require a minimum production quantity and additional lead time.
Why does panel quality determine door life?
A sectional door carries, bends and interlocks its panels on every opening; a weak panel wears down the whole system over time. NORMPANEL’s contribution to long service life comes down to four points:
- Corrosion resistance — Galvanising + polyester coating provides 10+ years of life and UV stability in external façade applications.
- Structural integrity — In the double-skinned construction, when one skin is damaged the other skin preserves integrity.
- Standards compliance — The panels comply with EN 12604 (mechanical) and EN 12424 (wind load).
- Safety geometry — Finger protection is standard in the Fingersafe family; the safety lock that engages in case of steel cable breakage is standard across the series.
The 14-group accessory ecosystem
A panel alone does not make a door; hardware is needed for installation, operation and safety. The NORMPANEL accessory portfolio covers 14 main groups:
- Profiles — hot-dip galvanised sheet + extruded aluminium
- Mechanical components — shaft, drum, spring, spring head, sprung stopper
- Connection elements — bearing plate, wheel assembly, handle + lock, screws + bolts
- Sealing + cable — EPDM seals and the steel cable group
- Safety equipment — cable break sensor, anti-drop device, photocell sensor group
Standard torsion springs offer 15,000 – 25,000 cycles of life; a 100,000-cycle high-durability spring is optional for heavy use. Per occupational safety standards, the cable break sensor and anti-drop device must be tested annually. A separate technical PDF document is provided for each group.
Original-parts discipline
All accessories are produced as original spare parts fully compatible with the NORMTOR and NORMPANEL series; combining NORMPANEL hardware with another brand’s panel is outside warranty coverage. Spare-parts supply is guaranteed even for legacy NORMTOR sites — model continuity is 15 years and over. This continuity means a door installed today is still served from the same catalogue 10 years later.
