Good Automation Goes Unnoticed

A well-operating access system makes daily movement easier. Quiet, uninterrupted motion alone does not prove that safety functions work correctly. We assess both operating flow and documented checks.
Different devices have different jobs
Photocells, loop detectors and control boards are not interchangeable. A photocell’s coverage depends on placement; it cannot be assumed to see every obstacle or the whole opening. Stop, reversal or another response depends on the model and settings.
A loop detector can detect a vehicle’s presence. It is not, by itself, a complete counting, authorisation or safe-closing system. Card readers, remote controls or number-plate recognition form a separate permission layer.
Soft start, stop and current monitoring are assessed only as documented functions of the selected model. They are not identical across every r-tec product and do not replace mechanical protection or site risk assessment.
Keep commissioning records
A competent team checks coverage, limits, control sequence and power-loss behaviour against the manual. Recorded results and handover instructions provide a maintenance reference. Claims about production-line tests require separate records, not a user manual.
Checks during operation
Changing traffic, a moved photocell or ground work can alter the original conditions. Report unusual noise, repeated stops or unexpected movement to the installation partner. Hiding a problem is not part of normal operation.
Assess convenience, duty and safety together when reviewing the r-tec range. End users contact their installation partner for maintenance and faults.
